Jennifer O'Dell is an American actress. She is best known for the role of Veronica on the television series Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World.

Career

O'Dell began acting in commercials at the age of 8 in candy commercials. She took high school off to enjoy her time, but resumed acting after high school graduation. She guest starred on a number of television series, beginning in 1995, including Renegade, Silk Stalkings, Pacific Blue, Diagnosis: Murder, and Beverly Hills 90210. In 1999, she was cast as Veronica Layton in the TV film of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World, and later was recast in the role when the TV series was created several months later. Due to her popularity on the show, it raised her profile and she began receiving more work in guest starring roles on television and in co-starring roles in film. She also began appearing frequently in lad mags like Maxim, Stuff, and FHM.

O'Dell also didn't shy away from topless scenes in her film roles, appearing topless or implied nude in scenes for Sometimes They Come Back..For More (1998), The Colony (1998), Point Doom (1999), and The Man Who Came Back in 2008.

After The Lost World was canceled in 2002, O'Dell resumed guest starring in television shows, appearing on popular series like Scrubs, Charmed, Nip/Tuck, The Closer, CSI:Miami, CSI:New York, and Two and a Half Men. In her appearance on CSI: Miami episode "Nailed" as Charlene Hartford, she was the woman responsible for accidentally injuring the character Ryan Wolfe with a nailgun. Her most recent appearances have been on iCarly, Bones, and Modern Family. O'Dell's film work continues to be in mostly B-movies including suspense thriller Black Widow in 2010, and 2013 sci-fi thriller Alien Battlefield.

Personal Life

O'Dell lives in Southern California with her two children. She is formerly married to and dated Mark Platzer. When she is not acting, she is a photographer and is a certified spinning instructor. She also hosts a podcast called "Inspired Like Me."
